My Fav' Make-Up Combo's Of The Moment...

I took these pictures back when I was in Italy on holiday but as you'll probably know if you follow me on twitter is that my MacBook completely broke whilst we were out there so I couldn't persist with my outfit post or my reviews that I set out to do. However, it is now back up and running and I'm now back on the 'blogging and youtube band-waggon'!

I never used to see the point in mixing products or trying to make certain things work with others and I defiantly never thought one product could improve another but how I was wrong...

Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Pink in the afternoon, Mac fluidline in blacktrack, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Nude Delight, Softlips lipbalm, My Face Cosmetics Lipstick in 137, Fake Benefit Eye Liner Brush, Sigma E25 Brush, Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer in 52, Barry M Lipliner in Pink, Mac Paint in Bare Canvas.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer with Sigma Travel E25 Brush:

These two together work like a dream. The concealer is perfect for the under eyes as it doesn't feel or look heavy on the skin meaning it doesn't cake or stick to any of the dry patches on the skin. It also manages to cover everything up as well whilst still making the skin look like skin. The brush however is the thing that really does make this concealer shine.. It blends it into the skin to create an airbrushed finish to the under eyes and also gives a more concentrated coverage to a certain area than it would if you were applying it with your fingers.
Mac Fluidline in Blacktrack, Mac Paint in Bare Canvas and Fake Benefit eye liner brush:

These three put together create my simplest eye look. The Mac Paint does a great job at priming the lids and this is now the only primer I use for all eyeshadows, however it is also very opaque and creates a great background colour for liner on the upper lash line. Gel Liner has vastly become my favourite eye liner method and this little gem of a brush helps it to glide with ease. I ordered this fake benefit brush from eBay for £1.99 and I have to say, I've never spent a better two pounds on anything. I've always wanted a bent eyeliner brush and the only one that people seem to talk about is the one from coastal scents which is extremely hard to get over here sadly so I took a risk and got this one instead and I'm happy to say that these three work amazingly well together!

My face cosmetics lipstick for fair skin tones in 137 and Revlon super lustrous lipgloss in nude delight:

I have recently posted on here that I do not under any circumstances suit nude lip products and I truly did believe that as I had tried so so many of them from Mac to 2true and non of them had completely suited me. However, whilst mooching around the isles of a nearby boots store I came across this beauty of a lipstick and as soon as it was swatched, I just had to have it. It's the perfect nude with a pinky-rose undertone which suits me better than a cold blue-pink one. My only problem with this lipstick is that it can be a tiny bit drying and sometimes needs a bit of spicing up! I love to apply this lipgloss in the middle of my lips to plump them up a little and get them looking a bit more shiny.

Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Pink in the afternoon, Illamasqua Lipgloss and Barry M lipliner in Pink:

I am a complete newbie to lipliners, until I brought this one, I had never used one before as if I'm honest.. I always thought they were for older women in their late forties who were trying to keep their lips defined. After using this one though, I shall be purchasing some more as this one really did help my lipstick to stay on a lot longer even through a 4 course meal and 5 glasses of coca cola! You now could be wondering what the Illamasqua lipgloss is doing there as lets be honest, the colours are completely different.. well, this lipgloss is a funny one, in which it's a thick white gloss with lots of blue and pink iridescent glitter particles which run throughout it. This gives the lip colour more dimensions as when it hits the light, it shines a different colour.

Thank you for taking the time to read and I hope you enjoyed!

This year's shopping has already been more successful than the past four years that we have visited here. I've brought some makeup from an italian pharmacy and also brought a lippy from YSL that I have wanted for ages! Every year I visit a shop that is like Italy's equivalent to Forever 21, called Terranova, usually I never really pick up anything interesting but this year I got a beautiful maxi dress from there which I'm wearing below. I also picked up a few more bits which I will defiantly be hauling in a video when I get home!

Holidays, Apology + Night Outfits!

Let's start by saying that I'm on holiday! In Italy may I add, with boiling temperatures, turquoise pools and cloudless sky's. We've been coming here for five years now and it is absolutely beautiful. This year however, I have access to the outside world as our villa has wi-fi which is amazing for me! I know I've really been lacking on the video front but I do have my reasons...
1. My MacBook Pro has recently decided it hates me and my charger and is refusing to charge 2. I don't seem to be able to record a video under 20 minutes
and
3. I forgot to bring my camera on holiday so I can't film anymore videos for 10 days unless they're on my MacBook.

I thought I would blog though as I have a lot of spare time just lounging by the pool and reading magazines. I'm going to try and make my blog more professional, including better photos and more product posts as well. To start this week of blogging off, I'm going to show you what I wore last night to go out for a meal. I'll be posting my outfit from the night before everyday as well.

You Make Me Feel Like I'm Living A Teenage Dream

Twitter is good for making you think you know?
Some of the people that tweet quotes that automatically relate to your life, it's great. It always makes me think about a certain person. You know, when someone will say something and even though they haven't mentioned a name, you're thinking of one certain person.
I think that everyone has one of those people, do you?
Someone that you can go to, trust and feel like they respect you. You belong with them, no matter whether you're friends, cousins, boyfriend&girlfriend, married, engaged, crushes?

That feeling.. It really is magical. If you don't know what I'm talking about, think back to when you were little and you had that little teddy bear that you would cuddle up to when you were upset and it would just help sooth you or calm you down, obviously.. without saying a word. Just because it was there. Now think of that, but the teddy bear is actually a person and instead of grabbing it when you are upset, you phone the person up, you meet them, you just see them.

When you see that person, you automatically smile. You're face lights up, you're eyes have that sparkle in them, even when someone just says the persons name.
I'm writing this, because sometimes.. that person is always there in our lives and because they are, we sometimes take them for granted. We just expect them to be there.
So for either this week or month, I want you all to give that special person that you "belong to" some attention, for them to feel a sense of belonging - because if they're always there for you.. sometimes you have to repay the favour <3

Revlon's Peach Smoothie Nail Enamel.
This is one of their 'Scented when dry' polishes and smells of peaches!
I actually love this so much, just because the whole of today I have been smelling my nails and kind of looking like a weirdo but who cares! Also.. when you're hungry and smell your nails, it kind of helps with the craving!

Hope you liked this...

Leamington Haul!

We went to Leamington today just on a family day out as it was such lovely weather and I just thought I'd show you the few bits that I picked up today!

To explain all the book purchases.. whenever spring comes back around, I get back into reading and I finishes the book I was reading - '13 Little Blue Envelopes' this morning, and needed some new reads!

^^The one pictured above is Jenna & Jonah's Fauxmance and looks really good! It was £6.99 and the blurb says:
"Fans of romance don't need to look any further than the fauxmance brewing between teen idols Charlie Tracker and Fielding Withers-known on their hit TV show as Jenna and Jonah, next-door neighbors flush with the excitement of first love. But it's their off-screen relationship that has helped cement their fame, as passionate fans follow their every PDA. They grace the covers of magazines week after week. Their fan club has chapters all over the country. The only problem is their off-screen romance is one big publicity stunt, and Charlie and Fielding can't stand to be in the same room. Still, it's a great gig, so even when the cameras stop rolling, the show must go on, and on, and on. . . . Until the pesky paparazzi blow their cover, and Charlie and Fielding must disappear to weather the media storm. It's not until they're far off the grid of the Hollywood circuit that they realize that there's more to each of them than shiny hair and a winning smile."
This one is 'Viola in the Spotlight' and is right up my street as I get really intrigued about anything that involves boarding school as I've always wanted to go! It was £6.99 and This one says:
'Viola Chesterton is back home in her native New York after a year in the Middle-of-Nowhere at boarding school. All Viola wants to do is spend the summer doing with her best friends, Andrew and Caitlin. But she should know by now that things don't always go according to plan and, with Andrew being shipped off to summer camp by his parents and Caitlin swept up in her first real romance, Viola finds herself feeling lonely in her home town for the first time. Once again Viola turns to her love of film and theatre for solace as she helps out backstage at the Broadway show. And when she persuades her roommates from the Prefect Academy to come to New York for the opening night, things finally start to look up for Viola. Seeing her friends again makes Viola realise just how much she's missed them over the summer, and when they leave again to head back to school Viola makes a decision that shocks everyone - including herself - she wants to go back to Prefect too...'
This one is by the infamous author that wrote 'Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging' - Louise Rennison and is called 'Withering Tights'. I will admit that only picked this one up as it was part of the 3 for 2 offer! But it does sound good and it was £6.99. It says:
'You know what it's like when you have your first snog, and it feels like a tiny bat banging around in your mouth? Of course you do. So you will love Tallulah Casey as she careers about in her tights. She's your kind of mate'
This is the one that I'm most excited about! It's called - 'A Royal Match' and sounds extremely girly after we've just had the royal wedding! It was £7.99 and It Says:
'When LA-born Calypso Kelly arrives at the exclusive all-girls British boarding school, St. Augustine's, she's determined to become popular. But when a photo of Calypso kissing England's heir to the throne, Prince Freddie, ends up in the tabloids, it will take quick thinking to save her reputation-and her relationship with the prince.
After the tabloid disaster, Calypso hopes her next term at St. Augustine's will be better. But nothing could be further from the truth. Her archenemy (and culprit of the tabloid disaster) Honey O'Hare is her new dorm mate and her invite to the Annual Euro Royal Bash is nonexistent. Will a flirtation with a hot new sports star from the boys' school ruin her chances with Prince Freddie? Calypso has some work to do if she wants to go from pumpkin to princess in time for the ball.'

I love sims so so much! I've loved it for so long and have all of the sims 2 discs, now I lost this game - The original sims 3 and couldn't play any of my expansion packs of the sims 3 and sims 2 doesn't work on my macbook so I had no choice what so ever to repurchase this ;)
Lastly, we went to this lovely sweet shop which was so pretty and quaint! I got a mixture of Jelly Belly Jelly Beans - I love the red cherry ones! I also got a wham rip roll and a sour pop lolly.. but i ate that one, shhhhhh!

Thanks for reading my lovelies!
Have you been shopping recently?
What did you do on this bank holiday weekend?!

Do You Really Want To Be Someone Else?

I just watched a video from 'strawberryelectric48' about loving yourself and you are the person that you should be. Now, this sprung idea's into my head about people wanting to be other people. I've had girls on youtube messaging me saying 'I want to look like you, You're So Beautiful' and that's lovely, but you should want to be yourself! Now, I know that all of us want a different bum sometimes or would kill to just be able to tone up our mid-drift! << That's fine because it's not you wanting to be someone else!

I've learnt to be comfortable with who I am, but I know many people that still want to be someone else. They want to be smarter, thinner, taller, prettier or something else. I'd love to be able help all of you that feel that way and if you ever feel the need to speak to someone that won't judge you and someone that you can just open up to; I'm always here. Just email me at: jdrmakeup@live.com

You're all amazing, each of you in a different way. For all we know.. the next albert einstein could be reading this! The next kate moss! We never know, and that's why, everyone of you is special. We all know and realise that there is some horrible people in the world who don't think this about everyone and they just want to put everyone down because most of the time- they're just jealous!

Jealousy is the worst trait ever and I think nearly everyone has been jealous of someone once in their life, for whatever reason. This is absolutely fine as long as it's not making you depressed and you're not hurting the person on the other end.

Never try to be anyone else, always yourself because no one can beat that.

Review: Pix! Bronze Booster

Me and Bronzer used to be best friends, then we fell out and now this Pix! Bronze Booster has revived my love for the bronzing world.

It's a pigmented bronzer and I have it in the colour No.1 Light Bronze and this is a great everyday colour for me. The above picture is not a great representation of the colour what so ever as it looks orange and like it would 'tango' your skin. It does however have a few red undertones to the powder, but still manages to look natural on the skin. It is not matte, but it has no glitter or shimmer particles present in the product, It just manages to give the skin a nice sheen.

When purchased, It has a raised area in the middle of the powder which reads the brand name - "Pix!'

It has a cute pull out tray underneath the product, which then reveals a small brush very much like the benefit brushes that come with the 'Box Powders'. I usually hate the brushes that come with products but this one I don't mind, no means does this mean that I use it everyday to apply this product to my face, but when on-the-go I don't mind reaching for it and applying the product with this. It is relatively soft and has rounded edges so you don't end up with stripes all over your face!

Overall, I really do like this product. It is a great bronzer, without making me look overly tanned and shimmery! It does a great job at giving me 'that glow' that we all long for, but also manages to not darken my skin or add to the oil that is already present.

This is priced at £14.50 and available from Boots and Pix! stores in the UK. I Believe that this brand is also available in the US and Canada as the person that recommend this to me, lives over there.

What do you think of the new font and set up?
I'm liking it!

Chocolate Cupcakes!

I've been baking some cupcakes today as I do this a lot and thought that this time, I'd take some pictures along the way and show you how to make them, even though the majority of you probably already know!

Ingredients:

Cake-
-125g (4.5oz) Unsalted Butter
-125g (4.5oz) Caster Sugar
-2 Eggs
-100g (3.5oz) Self-Raising Flour
-30g (1oz) Self-Raising Wholemeal Flour
-1/2 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
-Finely Grated Zest of an Orange

Icing-
-175g Icing Sugar
-75g Butter
-Chocolate Chips (White and Milk Chocolate)
-Silver Decorating Balls
-Chocolate and Vanilla Mini Marshmallows

Firstly line your cake tin with cake cases. However, I like to use Muffin cases instead as I like to make them a lot bigger than just small cupcakes! Also Preheat your oven to 180 C, Gas Mark 4, 340 F.

Next, Add the eggs, sugar and butter into a large bowl. Then sift in the Plain and Wholemeal flour. If there is any bran left in the sift, put that in the bowl as well.

Then mix it all together with a electric mixer for around 2 minutes.

After that, Take 2 teaspoons and spoon your designated amount into your cases. Then, to mix it up a bit, I put around 6 chocolate chips in the middle of each cupcake. These then all melted in together once cooked and were all gooey and yummy!

These are what they looked like when they were out of the oven, and because I used muffin cases, I only managed to make ten out of this recipe but in my opinion- I'd prefer a larger cake than lots of tiny ones.

To Decorate...

I put the butter into a large bowl and then sifted in the icing sugar a bit at a time, whilst I was mixing with an electric mixer.

This was me in mid-decorating mode! As you can see, a bit of a mess everywhere! I just mixed it up by putting white and milk chocolate chips on the cakes, also the silver balls on some and some mini marshmallows on others. I kept the decoration near the top and middle of the cakes as they look more professional (Mine Do Not!!) and less child-like that way!

This is what they looked like at the end!

They were extremely yummy! I placed them all on my mums cake stand and thought they look nice and pretty on there!
